In the 17th century, the women of the Sun King's court asserted themselves intellectually within literary circles. Among them, Madame de Scudéry emerged as one of the greatest intellectuals of her time. From her private mansion, where she gathered the ladies of the court each week, she dissected the scandals of the era. In her major work, Clélie , she included a guide to suitors on the art of elegantly seducing a noblewoman. Today, Clélie is a veritable guide to French gallantry. Our fragrance, inspired by this spirit of refined seduction, reveals notes that are both playful and sophisticated.
